Andrew Olsen and colleagues to attend NAELA Advanced Elder Law Review
Experts Share Latest Information on Elder and Special Needs Law Topics
Wilmington, NC — Attorney Andrew Olsen and colleagues of Counsel to the Elder Law Firm of Andrew Olsen in Wilmington, NC attended the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) Advanced Elder Law Review held from November 6-7, 2012 in Washington, D.C. This two-day program was part of the National Aging and Law Institute, a conference hosted by NAELA and co-sponsored by the National Aging and Law Conference (NALC), a coalition formed by NAELA, the Center for Medicare Advocacy, the American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging, the National Senior Citizens Law Center, the Center for Social Gerontology, the National Consumer Law Center, the AARP Foundation Litigation, and the National Association of States United for Aging and Disabilities.
Attendees had the opportunity to attend 14 advanced-level sessions taught by experts in the field, on topics such as:
- Avoiding Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Surprises by Reporting the Right Way at the Right Time;
- Conflicts of Interest Encountered by Special Needs Attorneys and Trustees;
- Five Most Complex Situations Dealing with Health and Personal Care Planning; and
- The Intricacies of the Affordable Care Act and Potential Opportunities for Client Counseling and Advocacy.
Members of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) are attorneys who are experienced and trained in working with the legal problems of aging Americans and individuals of all ages with disabilities. Established in 1987, NAELA is a non-profit association that assists lawyers, bar organizations, and others.
